When I explain what our days are like when we’re guiding waterfowl most just have empathy..
It would be typical to say that it’s the passion for sport but only 5% is that..
The more waterfowl guiding seasons you have under your belt the more waterfowling plays less of a part.
Waterfowl hunting is different than any other sect of hunting.
It’s about hunters coming together and sharing a passion and creating memorable experiences together. Very cool.
“Guiding” waterfowl is our passion. Sounds like a major cliche but I watch it with my guides.
Guiding birds becomes a personal owing to produce not just a world class hunt but a positive experience that will remain for a lifetime.
If not attained it’s a fail…
We always say your a “one hour hero then back to zero”…We don’t get a “Saturday to Saturday” to get a book animal. Our job is one in the morning and one in the afternoon…
That’s waterfowl guiding… All pressure…
It’s to The Influencers – The Group Leaders – the people that did the homework to find the “best” out there. Then try to coordinate friends and family to travel and experience what they found.
They are the ones to where all our hats are off to. That is not an easy job…
We all know what it feels like when you put your own neck out on the line. It can be an ugly feeling.
This is where a seasoned waterfowl guide feels a owing.
It’s also when a 24 hour day needs to be 30. Just to be able to confirm every possible loose angle over and over.. I guess it becomes a passion for detail.
My staff are the people whoI have a great amount of respect for and share a common goal… Success.
Members of the Birdtail family are The Influencers / The Group Leaders.
Our definition of success is when you talk the talk and walk the walk consistently.
Here comes 2013…
My 20th year guiding waterfowl….
