SANDI’S POPPERS

When making poppers judge the number of breasts you need by the number of people you are cooking for. I go 1 breast per person.

This is for 12 people

12 juvy snow goose breasts or duck breasts

1-8 oz package cream cheese

1-24 oz jar pickled banana peppers or 6 fresh jalapeno sliced into rings

1- 1lb package of your favorite bacon

24 strong toothpicks

Breast out your birds soak in salt water for 20 minutes to draw out the blood, drain and rinse well.

Cut a pocket in the thick side of the breast spread a teaspoon of cream cheese into the pocket place 2-3 pieces of pepper inside. wrap with bacon secure with toothpicks.

Mix up a marinade of 1 cup soy sauce, 1/2 c Worcester sauce, 1/2 c of your favorite hot sauce. ( I use Frank’s extra hot)

3 cloves of garlic minced, 2 c red wine if you wish.

place poppers in marinade for 30 mins or until your read to cook them.

Grill till they are medium. slice in half to serve.

these can be a second meat or a great appetizer while having a couple cocktails and talking about the days hunt.
